Coffee has been a part of our story from the beginning. Those first cups of coffee together, sitting on a hill with the summer sun rising, began a growing love for more than just coffee. Now, 26 years later, coffee is still shared together… and has only gotten better.

Dunia Coffee Roasters began out of the knowledge that a cup of coffee can lead to a connection. A connection over something good. It is because of the places we have gone, the people we have met and the coffee we have enjoyed, that has led us to where we are today.

Going deeper into the coffee world started in East Africa, where we tasted our first cup of coffee brewed with fresh beans within days of being roasted. Meeting the women who roasted those beans on a hand-cranked roaster, we were inspired in two ways; to learn more about the art of perfectly roasted coffee beans and to start looking for the ‘Roast Date’ on every bag of beans we purchase. After returning home, we bought a small roaster and began learning to reproduce the same fresh taste we experienced in Africa.

Soon we came to realize, if we do not start with a good bean, we cannot get a good final product. As we visited growers in Brazil and Thailand, it became clear that the goodness in our cup begins at origin, on small farms and in communities. Communities with rich cultures, beautiful languages, and families who are working hard to provide the best for their children.

Dunia Coffee Roasters values as much the quality of the final product, as the connections with amazing people along the way. From Indonesia to Brazil to East Africa, we celebrate the richness and diversity of these connections with each cup of Dunia coffee.
